With the incredible amount of history in the Adirondacks it
comes as no surprise that there are ghosts in the park. When exploring the park,
it’s important to know which ghouls are where and how to avoid them if you’re
timid or how to find them if you’re a risk taker. Whether you are avoiding the
ghosts are seeking them out, these are the most haunted locations in the
Adirondack park.
Fort Ticonderoga
Given the sheer number of sudden deaths at the fort, it makes
sense that there are spirits that still linger. Stories of rooms being
illuminated when no one was around, bodies of soldiers wandering the fort,
chairs rocking by themselves, and odd noises have been shared by tourists and
employees. Professional ghost hunters from The Atlantic Paranormal Society
claimed that there is most certainly paranormal activity rumbling in the halls
of the fort. For the more adventurous out there, the fort offers ghost tours in the wee hours of the night. During the battle
reenactments surely the spirits of dead soldiers walk among the living in
battle so reenactors beware!
Fort William Henry
Similar to Fort Ticonderoga, Fort William Henry has seen disease,
death, and destruction and therefore ghosts are ever-present. Ghost hunters
have witnessed odd noises, seen battles between shadows, and have heard reports
of unexplained physical contact with the ghouls. The staff at the fort offer
ghost tours late at night. If you want to be freaked out by some freaky
occurrences, visiting the fort should be on the top on your list.
The Sagamore
This hotel has been the subject of many ghost
stories from the Adirondack park. There is reportedly a little boy who haunts
the golf course and disappears golf balls. There is also a woman who creeps
into guest’s rooms during the night. Many have claimed that the hotel is
located on a Native American burial ground which could explain the paranormal
activity. Staying at this hotel would certainly be luxurious, but it would also
be quite spooky.
Brightside Hotel
As far as hauntings go, the ones at the Brightside are easily
the creepiest. Guests in one room have complained of the bed shaking violently.
There are blue orbs that have been spotted floating around the hotel. One woman
claimed that her camera took photos of her on it’s own and the county coroner
supposedly buried bodies in the basement when the ground was too cold to dig. With
all of these stories, it’s clear that this is a haunted venue.
