After reading the Marchand section on how these Adirondack animals and plants take care of themselves. It's interesting to observe how we think we are the smartest beings on the planet, and in order to conserve the Park, we must intervene and help nature take care of itself. However, these plants are pretty smart, and have been taking care of themselves for a while. These animals can live on their own and don't need our help. In my opinion, ironically enough, the only thing we should be helping nature with is protecting them from us. I think often times when we make decisions about nature and what we do with it, we fail to recognize the genius that is embedded in the natural processes of these extensive landscapes, such as the Adirondack Park.
